Svenska Builders ltd. is a local Saskatoon based construction company that specializes in the erection of pre-engineered steel buildings, as well as metal cladding.

Svenska was founded in 2015 and has built over 100 steel buildings across the Prairie Provinces. Since its inception we have grown from a 2 man crew to a 12 man crew and are looking to expand our team more. Svenska is the primary contractor for several steel building manufacturers & general contractors in the province.

Our work for the 2021 construction season is based in Saskatoon, out of town within 1.5 hrs and we have several projects we will be “On the road” for.

What we are looking for

– Someone who is prompt and can show up for scheduled work days & on time

What you need
– A working phone (For scheduling and time tracking)
– Basic PPE (Hard hat, steel toe boots, work clothes & gloves)
– Transportation to and from jobsites when working in town

What we would prefer to see in a candidate
– A valid driver’s license
– Valid Fall Arrest & Arial work platform training tickets
– A tool pouch

We provide all tools, transportation for out of town work, meals & lodging.

Key responsibilities / Details
– Assisting in the installation of pre-engineered steel buildings, metal siding & roofing in Agricultural & commercial industries
– Measure & cut substrates (metal siding, metal framing etc.)
– Sort metal sheets, parts, scrap metal & other materials
– Position will involve the use of power tools & heavy equipment (impacts, drills, grinders, man lifts)
– Must be able to perform heavy lifting (50+ lbs)
– Loading and unloading of construction materials is required
– Assist in the maintenance of tools, equipment and overall organization of the job site
– Manual dexterity needed and the ability to work in a team environment
– Must be willing to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
– Punctuality and professional work attire and commitment to Health & Safety procedures are essential
– Must be able to work in outdoor conditions through all seasons
– This is a permanent full-time position

Wage will be based on prior construction industry knowledge. Start wage for non-experienced workers ranges from 13-16$ an hour. Experienced workers will range from 16-25$ an hour. Overtime paid over 160 hours a month.

We have a young crew (22-31) who work hard, and are professional. The crew is a barrel of laughs to be around; work atmosphere is very similar to a sporting team environment.
