Whitemud Ironworks Limited is the largest open shop commercial fabricator/erector in Western Canada. We are a fully integrated steel fabricator and erector that specializes in structural and miscellaneous steel projects in the commercial sector.
We are recognized as an industry leader. Due to our reputation, we have grown substantially over the past 25+ years with established offices and construction crews in BC and AB and three fabrication facilities across Alberta totaling over 400,000 square feet.

We are seeking highly skilled Welders and Structural Steel Fitters to join our fabrication team in Nisku on the night shift. The hours of work are from 4:00 PM to 3:30 AM Monday to Thursday.
The key duties of this position include:
- Read and interpret blueprint drawings
- Select and transport material to work area manually or using overhead crane
- Lay out, prepare and assemble structural steel components for commercial, institutional and industrial steel erection projects
- Operate metalworking machines and use cutting torches to cut steel, drill or punch holes, roll, bend, or press steel into a desired shape
- Assemble and fit metal sections and plates together to form complete units or sub-units
- Welding structural metalwork using FCAW and MCAW
The ideal candidate will have:
- Apprentice or Journeyman Welder or Structural Steel Fitter; Equivalent experience will be considered
- Welders should have a valid CWB FCAW/MCAW ticket
- Previous experience working in a structural steel shop is highly preferred
- A team player with a high commitment to safety, quality, and productivity
