This is a permanent maintenance position in our Fort McMurray location. Fly in fly out from Calgary or Edmonton, camp based.
What you’ll be doing:
Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications.
Recognize defective welds, know the cause, and repair procedure for the defective area.
Fuse metals safety and effectively use prescribed welding applications.
Perform tasks in accordance with industry quality and production standards.
May operate metal shaping machines, such as brakes, shears and other metal straightening and bending machines.
Welding on heavy equipment.
We’d love to hear from you if you:
Have your Journeyman Welder or Apprentice ticket
If you are proficient in all positions in FCAW, SMAW, and Carbon Air Arc Gouging
Have Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
Know and understand metals, arc electrodes, welding gases and gas welding filler roads
Know and understand the welding equipment involved in various procedures
Have physical strength, stamina, and the use of proper lifting techniques
Required to manage heavy materials and stand for extended periods
Are adaptable and can work in a team environment
Have safety as a top priority
Able to read and understand complex instructions

This position has been identified as a safety sensitive position and will require completion of drug and alcohol testing.
Covid-19:
There is a Client Owner mandated COVID-19 Vaccination Protocol to obtain access to the Horizon site. You will be required to show proof of double vaccination with two doses of the Health Canada approved COVID-19 vaccine, with no less than 14 days since the second vaccination. Individuals who are not double vaccinated will be required to produce a negative COVID-19 test every 72 hours.The test will be provided on-site by the Client Owner.
