We are currently looking for a Journeyman Welder, Shop for our Fort McMurray, Alberta location.
Reports to: Foreman, Welding Shop
Shift: 7 x 7, 12 hours per shift, rotational between days and nights
Location: Fort McMurray, Alberta
Relocation: This position does not offer relocation
Responsibilities
Proficiency in all position use of: GMAW, FCAW, SMAW; all sizes of weld wire
Reading and interpretation of blueprints
Proficient in the use of oxy/fuel cutting equipment, electric welding machines
Maintain a clean, orderly and safe work environment at all times
Ensuring the safety of both you and co-workers
Skills & Qualifications
Certified journeyperson qualified to work in the province of Alberta
3 to 7 years welding experience
Repair of mine equipment including trucks and shovels
Line boring/machining experience and ability to build up bores requiring repair
All position CWB certification an asset
Heat treatment experience an asset, as well as history of welding with 3/32 wire
Safety courses
P&H mechanical experience an advantage
Valid Alberta Driver’s License
Working in a Trade in Alberta
To work as a Welder in Alberta, a person must be a registered apprentice or a certified journeyperson or hold a recognized trade certificate. The successful candidate will demonstrate a can do attitude, commitment to safety, continuous quality/process improvement and successful project delivery.
