What You Will Do:
Overview:
Performs skilled welding work to produce product, maintain, repair, service, inspect, and test equipment and machines under general supervision.
Essential functions may include the following tasks, knowledge, skills and other characteristics. Completes general production work using MIG/TIG and electrical welding techniques with related metal working tools, fixtures and aides.
Follows all written and verbal procedures pertaining to welding operations.
Performs cutting and welding operations on steel equipment and machines.
Adheares to qualification standards in GMAW/ GTAW certifications
Knows and complies with all safety policies and procedures.
Contributes to the department continuous improvement culture.
Maintains a clean and well-organized work area.
Maintains confidentiality of all matters.
Other duties as required.
Facility Specific Additions to Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
Interpretation of mechanical drawings, including weld requirement symbols
Maintains the department housekeeping to be organized, clean and safe environment and maintains 5 + 1 “S” standards.
Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
May require working weekends, and/or extended shift hours.
Utilize forklift to move objects.
Education, Licensing, and Certifications:
Required
High school diploma, GED or equivalent required with trade school diploma from an accredited program or equivalent education and/or experience.
Facility Specific Additions to Education, Licensing, and Certifications
Fork Lift Certification (will provide on the job)
Experience:
Required
Up to two years of experience as a GMAW/ GTAW certified welder.
