Welders join or sever metals in beams, girders, vessels, piping and other metal components, make metal parts used in construction and manufacturing plants, and weld parts, tools, machines and equipment.
Minimum Requirements:
Journeyperson Certificate of Completion in the Welding trade
B-Pressure Certification from Alberta Boilers Safety Association (ABSA)
CWB Tickets
Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS-09 or 2020) Certification
Energy Safety Canada Certified Fall Arrest/Fall Protection
Energy Safety Canada Certified Confined Space
Valid Government Issued Identification
Welding tickets and/or welder performance qualification testing required – as per Site’s Performance Qualification testing of welder’s guideline:
F3/F4 Carbon Steel,

F6/F5 GTAW

Responsibilities:
Weld up to 30 inches (FDI) per day when material is available (some welds may be customized while others may be repetitive procedures to complete the work)
Use welding processes such as SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, or SAW to weld pressure piping
Follow various company policies and procedures
