Dero has an immediate opening for 1st Shift Welders located in Lakeland, Florida. Responsibilities to include:
Laying out, positioning, and securing parts and assemblies according to specifications, using straightedge, combination square, calipers and ruler.
· Tack-welds or welds components and assemblies, using MIG Welding equipment.
· Cuts work piece, using powered saws and cutting torch.
· Observes welded surfaces to evaluate weld quality and conformance to specifications.
· Removes rough spots from work piece, using portable grinder, hand file, or scraper.
· Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
· Heats, forms, and dresses metal parts, using hand tools, torch, or arc welding equipment.
· Ignites torch and adjust valves, amperage, or voltage to obtain desired flame or arc.
· Analyzes engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.
· Develops templates and other work aids to hold and align parts.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Qualified candidates must have:
· A broad knowledge of welding. The welding requirements may vary widely depending on the job being offered, this could include that some positions may be on the job for entry-level positions. Higher-level welder positions may require years of formal education in vocational or technical schools or colleges. Some welder positions require a general welding certification or certificate.
Candidate must also be able to:
· Possess a strong work ethic
· Ability to follow directions and work independently
· Must be able to meet tight deadlines and work overtime as required
