Overview

Under the supervision of the Container Repair Lead/Supervisor, The Welder, Combination, Maintenance is responsible for performing welding operations necessary to fulfill maintenance and fabrication/repairs in accordance with Army Regulation (AR 750-1), applicable Technical Manuals (TM’s), and Military Standard (MIL-STD 3037).

General Duties and Responsibilities:
Reports to the Container Repair Lead/Supervisor.

Performs welding operations on a variety of ferrous and non-ferrous metals to include, but not limited to mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.

Welds metal components together to fabricate or repair products, such as machine parts, plant equipment, shipping containers, according to layouts, blueprints or work orders, using various weld processes such as Gas Metal Arc Weld (GMAW), Shielded Metal Arc Weld (SMAW), & Gas Tungsten Arc Weld (GTAW).

Perform other qualified duties as assigned to meet organizational/operational objectives.

Able to work with minimum supervision.

Have a keen understanding of personal protective equipment (PPE) & safety precautions for welding, cutting and grinding.

The ability to work overtime as required to include weekends.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Training Requirements:
Must have: Valid Driver’s License

Must have: AWSD1.1 Certificate

Forklift Certification

Must be able to pass a NACI background investigation

Minimum Job and Education Requirements:
High School/GED. Two years of experience in the welding/maintenance field.
