Job Summary:

You are a 2nd Year Welder Apprentice who is looking for an opportunity to learn and expand your existing welding skills. You will be working in a Heavy Equipment Maintenance facility supporting Heavy Duty Mechanics and Journeymen Welders repairing various mobile equipment. You have a safety mindset and take pride in your work.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Read and follow directions in given layouts, blueprints and work orders
  • Welds parts, and may also build up worn parts by w:lding layers of high-strength hard-metal alloys onto them
  • Assist in preparing parts to be welded, which may include cutting, punching, drilling, and bending of material
  • Use and operate the welding equipment to fabricate and customize products
  • Operate flame-cutting equipment
  • General welders helper duties such as grinding, buffing and weld set up


Qualifications

  • Must be a registered 2nd year Welder Apprentice from a recognized provincial training authority
  • Must successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing
  • Must possess valid CSTS 2020 (Construction Safety Training Systems) certification or equivalent
  • Must possess a valid class 5 driver’s license and maintain a clean driver’s abstract


Work Conditions:

  • Monday through Friday shift, working 8-10 hour days
  • Benefits provided by CLAC
