Position Summary:
Type: Full Time, Permanent
Location: Fort McKay, AB – Incubator Park
Schedule: 7 on / 7 off – 12 hour days
Compensation Details:
Vacation pay at 6% – paid out bi-weekly upon start date

Primary Responsibilities
Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes;
Examine welds and ensure that they meet CWB, ABSA standards and specifications
Ensure the finished weld is uniform and free of indications e.g.; grapes, crates, porosity, undercut and lack of fusion
Utilize the following techniques: Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Oxy-acetylene welding (OAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW), Plasma Arc Welding (PAW), etc.
Ability to weld stainless steel, iron and heavy metals; aluminum, nickel, titanium and other alloys; composites Other related duties as assigned
Education & Experience
Inter-provincial (Red Seal) or Alberta certified Journeyman Welder certificate
B Pressure Welding Certification
ABSA Performance Qualification Card
3 years experience in a related field, previous oil and construction experience preferred
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
Valid CSTS and OSSA (Oil Sands Safety Association) or CSO is a MUST
Must be a self-starter with demonstrated ability to make sound decisions
Proven ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
Demonstrated problem solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills
Good written and oral communication skills.
