Requirements:

  • 3rd-year apprentice with AIT, or Journeyman
  • WHMIS and First Aid training (is an asset)

Shift:

10 hours/day, Monday to Thursday, 7:00 am – 5:00pm

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $33.00-$39.00 per hour

Fabrication/Shop Duties:

  • Perform a variety of welding processes for mild steel, stainless steel and aluminum (SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW)
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings/blueprints
  • Operate welding and flame-cutting equipment
  • Operate drill presses, band saw and lathe
  • Operate hoisting and lifting equipment (i.e. overhead crane)
  • Prepare jigs and set-ups for welding
  • Operate the 2D CNC plasma cutting table
  • Operate the 3D CNC pipe cutter
  • Drive the forklift and boom truck, as needed
  • General maintenance/clean-up of the shop and yard
  • Painting, finishing and final assembly of products
  • Occasional deliveries/pick-ups
  • Provide on-location services and attend site visits
  • Prototyping of internal products or customer projects

Technical Requirements:

  • Certified as a 3rd year apperntus or Red Seal Journeyman Welder in the province of Alberta
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean abstract
  • Able to reliably commute to and from work
  • Demonstrated ability to tow a flatbed trailer (preferred)
  • Knowledge of industry codes and standards (CSA, CWB, ASME, ASTM)
  • Must provide your own steel-toe boots and fire resistant coveralls
  • Forklift certification (is an asset)
  • WHMIS and First Aid training (is an asset)
