Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY

Responsible for applying , conducting and maintaining tests and repairs electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components. Applies skills in restoring or replacing malfunctioned equipment to operation.

SAFETY

Working safely is a condition of employment.

Employee is required to follow all Safety procedures and rules.

Employee is required to properly wear all required PPE as noted in PPE assessments and JSA’s.

Employee is required to perform pre-operation safety inspections (hoist, forklifts, etc.).

Responsible for review and sign off of all JSA’s every 6 months.

Observe SWFP safety rules and regulations.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Must work as a team member to improve safety, efficiency and quality.

2. Install, modify, diagnose and repair for all but not limited to electrical , electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical equipment for operations.

3. Check and maintain quality critical aspects of operations as defined by standard operating procedures.

4. Functions involve machining, welding, pipefitting, carpentry, machine, facility repair, preventative maintenance, general maintenance as well as general electrical duties.

5. Responsible for communicating effectively with supervisors, managers, co-workers and operators about maintenance issues.

8. Responsible for housekeeping and organization of work area including cleaning and placement of tools.

9. Perform duties that may be deemed necessary by the supervision or management.

EQUIPMENT USED

Power, hand and multi craft tools, cutting devices, ladders, welders, test equipment and multiple material handling devices (i.e. hoist, forklift, pallet jacks etc.)

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Must use good judgment when operating machinery and equipment and determining causes of maintenance issues.

Must be able to interpret work orders, blue prints and equipment manuals.

Must be able to follow instructions from shift supervisor.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS

Normal plant conditions. Employee exposed to cold in winter and heat in summer with fairly high level of noise, dust and fumes.

Job requires a large percentage (95%) of standing and/or walking time during required shift.

Shifts may require pulling, reaching , bending and climbing for extended periods of time at floor/ground level as well as below and above floor/ground level.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or equivalent is required.

Must be able to read and write. Arithmetic encountered is addition, subtraction, multiplication, fractions, division and decimals.

Employee should be able to perform satisfactorily in six months.
