Overview
Busy Guelph Custom Shop is seeking to add another welder immediately to our team.
The bulk of the work is installing miscellaneous construction metals such as steel stairs, railings, picket guards, access ladders, mezzanines, canopies, trellis systems, mechanical screens and the some structural installations. There will also be frequent site welding support assignments.
The position will entail mostly site work with a foreman and a team but will also entail some service welding on your own. Applicant skills should be well rounded with a sound mechanical aptitude and be a self starter with the ability to problem solve. Ability to interpret shop drawings and blueprints are essential.
Previous Lead-Hand or Foreman experience is a big asset and could lead into a full time foreman position. (Currently $32.47 per hour + benefits) Shop experience and MIG tickets are also a plus.
Current or very recent all position stick tickets are a must. A valid class G drivers license is also required to acquire and maintain this position as some independent assignments are part of the role.
Most work is located locally or often less than an hour from the shop. Working hours are generally 7AM to 4:30 M-F daily. Some evening and weekend overtime may be required. 1.5x OT after 9 hours daily and Saturdays, 2X OT on Sundays.
