Job Skills & Qualifications

3-5 years practical experience with Submerge Arc Welding Process

Experience using modern welding tools and equipment

OSHA 10

High School Diploma / GED

Completion of welding certification(s) required by company and/or client.

Read, write, and communicate using English language sufficient to perform job functions as required by client and/or facility policy.

Job Summary

Attention to details Ability to identify all techniques of welding (TIG, MIG, Arc and Flux Core) and know all properties of various types of metals and how heat affects them.

Weld Test required:
STANDARD PLATE WELDING TEST FLUX CORE (FCAW) Submerged Arc Welding Process 3 position / 1g, 2,g & 3g – Overhead, vertical, and Flat ½” Thick carbon steel plates. 1 – Horizontal, 1 – Uphill Vertical & 1 Overhead will be welded at the same time.

Welding will be with .045″ 70 Series flux cored wire Only stringer weld passes will be allowed

The welder will be required to prep each of the plate halves to their preference prior to tacking.

The welder must cut and prepare 2 – side bend specimens 3/8″ thick from each of the plates welded.

The test must be completed within 3 hours including cutting, prepping and bending.
