Academy is a well-established and fast-growing fabrication company with location in both Onoway and Edmonton, AB. We service a wide rage of industries which includes oil & gas, mining, and other heavy industrial sectors.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Comply with Academy HSE program;
  • Displays a commitment to Academy’s safety program, values, and culture;
  • Layout and mark piping for cutting;
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic flame cutting equipment;
  • Operate hoisting and lifting equipment;
  • May be required to operate a skid steer;
  • Properly and consistently follow established procedures;
  • Wear the appropriate personal protective equipment at all times;
  • Maintains good housekeeping in work area;
  • Report personal injuries, no matter how minor, and obtain medical attention as required;
  • Consistently follow and encourage shop rules;
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule.

Requirements

  • Apprenticeship registered with AIT for welding or pipefitting (must have bluebook);
  • 1+ years of experience working in a Fabrication Shop;
  • Experience with operating a skid steer;
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license;
  • English language fluency is required;
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs and be physically able to complete fabrication shop labour;
  • Possess valid CSTS-09 (Construction Safety Training Systems) certification would be an asset;
  • Possess WHMIS 2015 certification would be an asset.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $48,204.00-$70,720.00 per year
