Sureway Industrial Services is currently hiring Apprentice Pipefitters/Welders at our Fab Shop located in Edmonton, AB.
Description:
Reporting to the Foreman, the job of the Apprentice Pipefitters/Welders is to assist the journeymen on all tasks.
Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the Apprentice Pipefitters/Welders include, but are not limited to:
Must be able to read and interpret isometric drawings
Measuring, cutting, threading and bending pipe as required
Fitting up and preparing welded piping joints as directed by the journeyperson
Must be able to pipe grind and prep material
Familiarity with rigging and hoisting material using proper techniques while abiding by safety protocols
Fabricating piping/equipment supports, guides and brackets as per provided specification.
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:
Valid pipefitting or welding apprenticeship with AIT
Pipe grinding and bolting experience is required.
Rigging and hoisting experience is required.
Pipe cutting experience with Oxy/Actyl is required.
Assist journeyman as needed and must be a team player.
Must have experience interpreting and reading blueprints and constructions drawings.
Experience in a pipe fabrication shop is required.
CSTS-09 and WHMIS are required.
First Aid and Fall Arrest are an asset.
Physically demanding work conditions.
CSA approved steel toed boots with 6” ankle support.
Successful candidates are required to have personal reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
Candidates must successfully complete orientation.
May be subject to Criminal Record checks depending on site requirements.
