Academy is a well-established and fast-growing fabrication company with location in both Onoway and Edmonton, AB. We service a wide rage of industries which includes oil & gas, mining, and other heavy industrial sectors.

Job Purpose

The Apprentice Welders main purpose is to assist the Journeymen on all welding tasks.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Displays a commitment to Academy’s safety program, values, and culture
  • Familiar with safe work practices
  • Grind, stamp, cut and drill material
  • May be required to operate tools and equipment including overhead cranes, oxy-acetylene torches
  • Wear the appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
  • May be required to operate a skid steer

Requirements

Education

  • Active apprenticeship registered with AIT for welding or pipefitting (must have Bluebook)

Qualifications

  • 1-year experience working in a fabrication shop
  • FCAW/MCAW certifications would be considered an asset
  • English Language Fluency is required
  • Experience with operating a skid steer
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule

Skills

  • The ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to lift a minimum 50lbs, be physically fit

Salary: $27.00-$36.00 per hour
