Overview

Loadstar Dispatchers is currently looking for an apprentice welder to work out of our Edmonton shop. We offer regular work, competitive wages. We are not looking for an entry level person at this time.

  • 1st Period Apprentice
  • 2nd Period Apprentice
  • Additional Skills
  • Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes
  • Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications

Weight Handling * Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
Welding Techniques * MIG

  • Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
  • Interpret welding process specifications
  • Fit, braze and torch-straighten metal
  • Determine weldability of materials

Own Tools/Equipment * Steel-toed safety boots

Transportation/Travel Information * Own transportation

  • Public transportation is not available

Responsibilities

  • Normal fleet maintenance tasks for large commercial trailers
  • Review work orders and plan work to be completed with Supervisor in a safe, efficient and timely manner
  • Able to read and properly interpret service specifications and manufacturer operating manuals

Environment

  • This job is performed in a shop as well as outside in all climates, we ask all employees to be prepared for variable weather conditions

Job Types: Full-time, Apprenticeship

Salary: $20.00-$24.00 per hour

Salary: $24.00-$28.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
