Overview
Wapiti Gravel Suppliers, a division of NPA Ltd. is looking for an enthusiastic, APPRENTICE WELDER to work full-time in our Grande Prairie location.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ability to read and work from shop/production drawings, blueprints, and welding process specification.
- Ability to read and understand welding symbol to product a sound, clean and quality weld.
- Fit and prepare jigs for welding components.
- Operate brazing and soldering equipment.
- Operate metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears and other metal straightening and bending machines.
- Safely operate manual and/or semi-automatic flame cutting equipment.
- Ability to work safely and efficiently.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- 1st or 2nd year apprentice welder.
- Physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 LBS on a regular basis.
- Knowledge of various types of construction equipment is an asset
- Prior experience working within a paving company is a definite asset.
- Must comply with Drug and Alcohol testing requirements.
- Ability to work overtime as required.
