Job Description

This job is ideal for a person who has completed training in welding, and who wants to gain the requisite experience and training for TIG welding of thin gauge stainless. We need an apprentice to be responsible for assembling, cutting, cleaning and prepping components for our Welders to complete. Over the first 4-6 months we will also provide on the job training & practise opportunities to learn the skills needed to progress into a TIG welding position.

We expect our team members to have strong attention to detail in order to maintain quality standards and ensure the workplace is safe anyone inside our facility. Applicants should be able to take direction and execute to the standards set in place by VelocityAP, as well as be able to handle a fast-paced environment with a variety of tasks. Only the highest quality products will be acceptable for our growing customer base.

Welder/Fabricator Duties and Responsibilities

· Fabricate and manufacture metal parts for later assembly

· Follow blueprints to ensure parts/systems are cut and prepared to spec

· Work with welding & shipping team to ensure maximum productivity and order assembly

· Ability to be follow procedures and guidelines set in place by VelocityAP

Welder/Fabricator Requirements and Qualifications

· Prior welding & fabricating experience (Welding certification is preferred)

· Familiarity with common welding tools and procedures, including TIG welding, MIG welding, metal fabricating, grinding, and finishing metals

· Ability to stand, crouch, and occasionally lift heavy equipment

· Good Verbal communication skills & positive attitude

Starting Salary: $18.00 – $24.00 hourly, extended health and dental after 3 month probationary period.
