ATH Stainless Steel is seeking experienced drafters for their Architectural Draftsperson In Custom Metal Manufacturing and Construction position. The successful individual will draft and design complex Stainless Steel architectural panels for Construction using AutoCAD and Solidworks.

Responsibilities

  • Develop architectural shop drawings and fabrication drawings with the coordination and management of technical project requirements.
  • Design and develop detailed drawings of ATH Stainless Steel work orders for architectural approval, shop fabrication & field installation, using AutoCAD, Solid works or similar software.
  • Create custom designs and/or specifications as required for architectural proposals, based on ATH or other Client’s needs.
  • Review Drawings and Specifications (Architectural, Structural, and Mechanical)
  • Follow engineering instructions and sketches, incorporating those into the designs.
  • Provide complete package of fabrication drawings for jobs and bills of materials, as required.
  • Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting designs, fabrication, or construction procedures.
  • Proactively preparing shop drawings, fabrication drawings, installation drawings from architectural and structural drawings using Solid works and AutoCAD.
  • Reviewing architectural, structural, mechanical drawings and IFC drawings of external architectural consultants for supplementing shop drawings.
  • Revising shop drawing in terms of all SI/revisions receiving afterwards.
  • Working closely with the President in coordinating drawings in compliance with specifications and scope of work.
  • Resolving many outstanding issues that arise during fabrication, assembly, and installation process.
  • Coordinate and consult with peers to design, layout, or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems.
  • Modify and revise designs to correct deficiencies or incorporate instructions and comments onto drawings.
  • Maintain organization within the existing drawing database.

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of designing/drafting experience with Metals and Mechanical Engineering Background an Asset.
  • Graduate of an Architectural Technology program and/or Mechanical Engineering program
  • Have experience in developing architectural shop drawings and fabrication drawings for mid to high rise buildings
  • Experience working in a construction building envelope environment considered an asset.
  • Strong hands-on experience and understanding with architectural detailing on complex projects
  • Strong PC skills in AutoCAD, Solidworks and MS Office.
  • Strong knowledge of the Ontario Building Code
  • Strong mathematical and time management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Extremely well organized with good interpersonal skills
  • An eagerness to learn and overcome challenges.

Salary: $60,000 – $70,000 Annual

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year

Experience:

  • drafting: 5 years (required)
  • Shop Drawing Preparation: 5 years (preferred)
