Specific Accountabilities:
The Professor will be responsible for providing academic leadership and for encouraging an effective environment through the design and revision of programs and courses, evaluating learning outcomes, developing appropriate teaching and learning environments, and utilizing appropriate learning materials. You will be expected to support student learning and progress, as well as evaluate assessments and student achievement.

Keeping current in your field through consultation with business and industry representatives are essential components of these positions.

You will champion the design of customized training and educational programs in collaboration with the local demand. Program promotion and student recruitment are essential areas of responsibility.

Qualifications:
Qualified applicants must possess a Certificate of Qualification as a journeyperson in Welding trades or a related and relevant post-secondary diploma with industrial welding certificates. The candidate must have at least seven years industry related experience utilizing SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, MCAW, GTAW, OFW, SAW, OFAC, PAC, and CAC-A.

Additional qualifications include teaching or training, industry experience and the desire to contribute to the education of the next generation of skilled trades professionals. Applicants must have the ability to be an effective role model in an educational setting and function effectively in a team environment.

Successful candidates must be passionate about teaching and will demonstrate a commitment and capacity for teaching excellence, student engagement, scholarly activity, and campus citizenship.

Candidates who demonstrate knowledge or competency in the following academic skills and abilities will be given preference: curriculum viewing; instructional delivery; active, collaborative learning techniques; effective assessment and evaluation of learning; and appropriate use of technology for teaching and learning.
