Overview

Under the guidance of the Shift Supervisor, the position performs a variety of machine operating tasks. These duties include but are not limited to transporting rolls of fabric, reviewing of specification sheets, machine setup, overseeing the auto-weld and auto-seam machine for fabricating filter bags. As required, work on the industrial cutting table. The remaining points are inserted under the duties and responsibilities section.

Qualifications:

Knowledge Essential:

  • 3+ years in a machine operating position, using industrial equipment.
  • Experience reading and interpreting specification sheets, and machine setup.
  • Experience using an ERP system to scan in and out of work orders.

Skills and Abilities Essential:

  • Ability to work independently as well as cohesively with employees and managers as part of a team.
  • Problem solving skills in order to resolve conflicts and problems.
  • Detailed oriented and excellent organizational concentration and accuracy skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure with simultaneous deadlines.
  • Health and Safety conscious to minimize risk of injury from equipment.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for producing work orders in based on the pre-established priorities provided by the Shift Supervisor.
  • Transports rolls of fabric from the staging area in the warehouse, to the auto weld/seam area using a dolly or pump truck.
  • Review work order(s), to ensure correct material is available. Review specification and using the digitalized setup system, set specification.
  • Responsible for feeding material through roller bars, adjusting proper fittings, setting heat and speed functions accurately and feeding the order through the welder/seamer.
  • Fabricate and assemble filter fabrics into the appropriate brings, ensuring all pieces are together and based on work order to move to the next station.
  • Trouble shoot any issues with the auto-machines and ask for assistance from the Team Lead and/or Shift Supervisor if required.
  • Assist in the cutting department, mapping out patterns and cutting material to specification as required.
  • Maintains complete knowledge of and comply with company and departmental policies, procedures and standards.
  • Maintains a positive working relationship with team members and management in a team environment.
  • Set-up and organize individual work area with designated supplies, forms and resource materials while maintaining cleanliness at all times.
