DMM Motorsports is seeking an experienced Product Development Fabricator. This individual will work as a member of the Product Development team to create new and innovative performance products for various import/domestic platforms.

Job Description

Our Product Development team is looking for a reliable and experienced fabricator. In this role, they will work with our engineers and brand managers to turn product concepts into reality. The primary responsibility of the role will be to fabricate and assemble prototype automotive parts made of steel, aluminum, and carbon fiber. Once fabricated, the parts will be installed in our test cars and will be evaluated for any necessary changes needed to improve prototypes.

Experience with MIG/TIG welding, sheet metal fabrication and ability to read prints is required. Exposure to building cars, chassis setup, bodywork, and automotive design are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Work with product development & engineering team to take products from concept to reality
  • Fabricate accurate production samples utilizing tools such as: welding, grinders, band saws, stomp shears, sheet metal brake, tube benders, calipers, rulers, clamps automated pipe benders, etc.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to be able to remove OEM vehicle equipment when needed and install prototype parts. Items to be removed may be but are not limited to, vehicle exhaust, suspension, interior components, engine components
  • Comply with plant safety procedures to ensure a safe environment
  • Ensure efficient and timely processing of various projects by organizing work schedule.

Experience and Background

  • 1 – 2 years of Mig & Tig Welding Experience (Steel & Aluminum)
  • 2+ years of automotive mechanic experience
  • Experience forming and rolling sheet metal up to 16 gauge
  • Comfortable using power tools, sanders, band saws, grinders, etc.
  • Demonstrate competency in basic shop math
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and other shop drawings
  • Flexible and responsive, with a strong teamwork orientation
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Desire to learn new skills and improve technical knowledge
  • Commitment to quality and accuracy of work performed and continuous improvement
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Possess ability to drive for results, hold self-accountable, and continuously improve

Details

  • 40 hours per week with selective overtime
  • Monday to Friday 8am – 5pm
  • $18-$24 per hour based upon experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 – $24.00 per hour
