Jardeg is recruiting B-Pressure Welders with Rig to join the Imperial Oil Kearl Turnaround team on site near Fort MacKay, Alberta. Positions are temporary during Spring season with high possibility for other project opportunities upon completion, working 12-hour days.

Rig Welders:
- Are skillful in the fusing of metals using prescribed welding applications.
- Weld up to 24-to-36-inch Diameter pipe.
- Use welding processes such as SMAW and FCAW.
- Comprehend drawings and develop layout patterns for projects and calculate quantities of materials.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of metals, arc electrodes, welding gases and gas welding filler rods.
- Recognize defective welds; know the cause and proper procedure for the repair of the defective area.
- Demonstrate knowledge of mathematics calculations pertaining to the welding trade.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of the required codes.
- Be familiar with the work of other trades people in affiliated trades.
- Perform assigned tasks in accordance with quality and production standards required by industry.
Position Qualifications:
- Journeyperson Certificate of completion in the welding trade.
- Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS-09 or 2020) Certification.
- Energy Safety Canada Certified Fall Protection.
- Energy Safety Canada Certified Confined Space.
- First Aid – Standard Level Certification.
- Basic Rigging.
- Fit Test.
- Wire Feeder on Rig required.
Welding tickets and/or welder performance qualification testing required – as per Site’s Performance Qualification testing of welder’s guideline:
- F3/F4 Down-hand with Max T (or over .75” max deposited weld metal),
- F5/F6,
- F6 FCAW,
- CWB FCAW (All position),
- CWB SMAW (All position),
- Arctec 661T (All position), and
- Arctec W1063 (Flat & Horizontal).
