Overview

We are looking to immediately hire a competent Band Saw Operator. The position is responsible for helping the manufacturing process of concrete plants. Applicants will need experience operating a band saw and a forklift. The position will require applicant to unload steel from trucks with forklift. Applicant will also maintain the yard and steel inventory. Any welding experience a plus. This position will ensure an organized work environment, and adequate maintenance of equipment and materials and a willingness to follow instructions. You will work in cooperation with welders and shop supervisor to provide cut to spec materials. Applicant will need experience operating grinders, hammers, beveling machines, torches and magnetic drills. You will need to be familiar with standard carbon steel.

Band Saw Operator/ Welder Helper is a vital position to our overall manufacturing process.

Candidates will be patient and organized, and flexible to adapt to a dynamic work environment.

Band Saw Operator Responsibilities

  • Maintaining cleanliness of work areas.
  • Experienced Tape Measure Reading
  • Operating band saw for cutting materials a must
  • Ensuring welders have required materials and tools available, such as wire and grinding discs.
  • Maintaining & labeling stock levels of materials and supplies.
  • Operate Fork Lift for Unloading Trucks & Loading Material
  • Operate a wide variety of hand and power tools, along with other related equipment. Ex. Mag Drill, Grinder, Etc.
  • Employing buffers and grinders to clean welds.
  • Maintaining knowledge of various types of metal.
  • Identifying safety risks and hazards, and complying with relevant safety procedures and regulations.
  • Maintain orderly yard

Welder Helper Requirements:

  • 6+ months work experience in a similar role.
  • Proficient knowledge of all aspects of Band Saw Operation
  • Basic English reading and writing skills.
  • Physically strong, agile and dexterous.
  • Ability to work in a standing position for extended hours.
  • Comfortable with working on elevated surfaces.
  • Resilient to working in adverse climatic conditions.
  • Available to work shifts and extended hours.
  • Available to travel to remote areas for extended periods.
  • Fork lift experience & Band Saw Experience a must

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
