We are hiring for our Crown West Steel Fabricators Division!
Crown West Steel Fabricators is looking for dynamic, motivated individuals with a strong work ethic and a desire to learn new skills.
We are constantly growing and currently looking for the right person to join our team as a
Bandsaw and Steel Fabrication Equipment Operator
Competencies:
Read specifications or follow verbal instructions
Ensure workstation is equipped with enough consumables to process the day’s work
Select and transport material to work area manually or using crane or hoist
Confirm routings with prints and check for errors before processing jobs (report any discrepancies to supervisor)
Lay out, set up and operate band saws or other equipment to cut or otherwise shape and form metal stock into parts or products
Clean, grind or otherwise prepare products for next stage of production
Check products for correct shapes, dimensions and other specifications
Document work completed, by completing routings as per instruction
Clean or lubricate equipment and replace parts as required
Report any deficiencies in equipment operations, consumable inventories or other issues that may cause production delays or quality issues to supervisors immediately
Applicants will need:
A strong understanding of measurement tools, such as tape measures, calipers, etc.
Be able to read schematics
Previous experience with the use of industrial band saws, and other steel fabrication equipment such as plasma/lasers, brakes, shears, grinders, welding equipment etc.
To assist Managers and other personnel in other areas as required
To work with Quality Control, Supervisors and Health and Safety committee to ensure continuous improvement in quality, performance and health & safety
General Qualifications:
Saw Operator: 1 year (Required)
High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Wage is commensurate with experience. Shifts are Mon-Fri 6:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
Preference will be given to those who possess current forklift certification, overhead Crane certificates and/or industrial first aid level 1, 2 or 3
