Bin Shop Welder

Waste Connections of Canada has an immediate opening for a Container Shop Lead Hand at our Parksville location in Parksville BC, as the Bin Shop Welder you will be responsible for repairs in a safe, effective and timely manner. You will report directly to the maintenance manager and work with the truck shop when required, as one team.

Pay rate: $21.60 per hour

Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee the Container/Bin Maintenance shop

Use of wire feed welder and cutting torches , plasma cutters to weld/cut bins

Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures

Requirements:
Experience in Container/Bin Maintenance/Welding

Must be able to pass all pre-employment tests

Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MMA etc.)

Work outdoors in all weather conditions

Ability to handle large parts and tools

Position may require you to bend, crouch, stoop; use of ladder – fall arrest training
