Overview

Job Description: Full time carpenter/laborer for work at various jobsites throughout Polk County and Central Florida. Full-time, benefits available after 60 days. Drug testing, Jessica Lunsford Background Check and Motor Vehicle Report will be required.

Minimum Requirements

  • Understand and communicate in English
  • Pass Drug and Alcohol Test
  • Pass E-verify
  • Able to pass Jessica Lunsford Act background check
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • No minimum education required
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred

Job Requirements

  • Able to follow safe work practices

  • Able to listen and follow directions
  • Able to complete assigned tasks without direct supervision
  • Able to work both indoors and outdoors, in various types of weather

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be able to read specifications and blueprints, sketches or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required. (preferred)
  • Shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saw.
  • Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Obey applicable laws.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements:

  • Building and Construction – Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings
  • Related Experience – Some previous work related skills and knowledge.
  • Mathematics – Knowledge of basic arithmetic, geometry and their applications.
  • Design – Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Safety and Security – Knowledge of relevant equipment, safety policies, procedures and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national safety procedures for the protection of people, data, property and institutions you will be working with.
  • Critical Thinking – Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Equipment Selection – Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
  • Operation Monitoring – Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure the machine are working properly.

Pay: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour
