THE COMPANY

Aseniwuche Development Corporation, a Group company of Aseniwuche Winewak Nation of Canada, was incorporated in 1998 to participate in the growing resource industries in the traditional territory of AWN. Over the years ADC has contributed significantly to the local economy through wages, training, contracts, donations and purchasing local goods and services. After several years of growth and expansion, ADC now provides multiple services out of our state-of-the-art facility to cater to the growing demand.

THE PLACE

Nestled in the lap of Rocky Mountains in western Alberta, along Highway 40, Grande Cache is a hamlet located on the Scenic Route to Alaska. Blessed with sparkling lakes, rushing rivers, green valleys, and windswept peaks, Grande Cache is surrounded by panoramic views of 21 mountain peaks and 2 river valleys. Grande Cache is located 183 km south of Grande Prairie and 143 km north of Hinton. Jasper is 210 km south of Grande Cache and Edmonton is 450 km east of Grande Cache. Located adjacent to unspoiled Willmore Wilderness Park, which has an abundance of trails, big game, alpine flowers and spectacular waterways, Grande Cache has an excellent choice of shops, campgrounds, accommodations, restaurants and endless multi-use trails.

Main Duties

The Journeyman Welder works with the Fabrication Team to weld and fabricate custom items. Responsibilities include metal fabrication, designing plate layouts and operating metal-shaping machines. The Journeyman Welder is also responsible for setting up and operating heavy-duty metal-working machines, rigging, hoisting and moving materials, assembling and fitting metal sections and plates to form complete units of subunits using track welding, botting, riveting or other methods and installing fabricated components in a final product. The Journeyman Welder uses his training and experience to train and guide Apprentice Welders.

Qualifications and Requirements

· 2–5 years’ experience in fabrication.

· Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and welding specifications; operating manual and semi-automatic cutting equipment and welding equipment for GTAW, GMAW, PAW, SMAW, FCAW, OWA and SAW.

· Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyman certification as a Welder

· CSTS, First Aid and H2S Alive are required or obtained within 30 days of hire date

· Valid Class 5 Driver’s License, clean Driver’s Abstract.

· Must be willing to complete a pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.

· Must be willing to relocate to Grande Cache, Alberta.
