Overview
Certified Welder Duties & Responsibilities:
Reads and interprets project plans, blueprints, and other written instructions and diagrams to perform task at hand.
As scheduled and assigned by management, the Certified Welder is responsible for the weld, fit, install, service, and repair of fittings, valves, piping, other products, and equipment.
Experience with cutting metal with a cutting torch and oxylance.
Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.
Produce welds that are 100% X-ray quality and demonstrate knowledge and skills in safe rigging practices.
Provide personal hand tools for basic work, as directed.
Ensures that all work is done in compliance with all Federal, State, and Local health and safety law, ordinances, and policies.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Regular, predictable attendance is required.
Ability to get along and work effectively with others.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit, climb, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move from 75 to 100 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stopping, and handling of materials.
Repetitive use of hands and wrists using power, rotational, and vibration tools.
Required Experience, Education, Licenses and/or Certifications:
Pass a drug test and background check.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
Valid driver’s license.
Reliable transportation to and from work.
