We are currently recruiting for a Chargehand Welder. The role is based in Dumbarton, Scotland.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to work within our Tubular and Assembly team. To satisfy welding and fabrication requirements to engineering drawings within the workshop, by employing efficient and effective working practices. Ensure Safety and Quality standards are maintained, and job specifications comply with company and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Welding equipment, including set-up and adjustment.
- Able to read and correctly interpret welding standards, as well as Technical and Safety data sheets.
- Crane operation and lifting and slinging of materials
- Operation of de-burring equipment.
- Maintain machinery and parts to ensure equipment remains in optical operating condition.
- Ability to work unsupervised and maintain a high standard of quality.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate must have a recognised Welding/Fabrication Apprenticeship. Operational knowledge of welding and fabrication equipment. An ability to read and interpret Engineering data and drawings is essential. It would be beneficial to have TIG welding experience. A level of computer literacy. Sufficient and appropriate experience in a manufacturing environment is required and strong communications and team working skills.
