Summary
Applies skills and appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate or repair parts of metal or other weldable materials. Consistently meets or exceeds production, quality and safety requirements for assignments.

Key Accountabilities
Operate, service, and maintain equipment in a safe manner
Complete all documentation required for equipment service, inspections, and maintenance
Comply with required safety and operational procedures
Perform and assume other duties and responsibilities as may be required by immediate supervisor
Perform all duties in compliance with Customer and Company policies and procedures and applicable regulations
Actively participates in safety meetings and assist to identify and address risks and hazards
Employee must provide their own welding hood, chipping hammer and wire cutting pliers
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Use metal core mig, tig, flux core sub-arc, or stick welding process
Weld brackets and braces and use grinders
Comply with all applicable safety and environmental policies and procedures
Work with the team in developing improved work processes for the department
Position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides, and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools
Perform position welds on code materials
Read and understand blueprints
Operate basic cutting equipment including flame and plasma cutting torches
Working knowledge of metal core mig, tig, flux core sub-arc, or stick welding process
Working knowledge of basic cutting equipment operation
Working knowledge of different types and sizes of pipe, structural, other materials
Working knowledge of flame and plasma cutting torches
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to stand, bend, stoop, twist, squat, crawl and walk; may have long periods of standing or sitting
Exposure to working outdoors and extreme weather conditions
Must have flexibility to work any schedule based on business needs, including weekends, and be on a “on –call” rotation
Ability to clear/pass pre-employment screening, testing and job-relevant hiring requirements
Education Requirements
H.S. Diploma or equivalent required
Welding training or equivalent related on-the-job-training
Work Experience
Typically, 1 – 12 months related experience and/or training
Licenses and Certifications
Pipe or plate welding certification, if required in assigned facility
