Combo Welder (Fabrication Shop)
GEO Heat Exchangers, LLC was started in 1996 in order to fill the need for a high-quality, fast turnaround heat exchanger repair and fabrication facility. The success and growth over the years has G.E.O. poised for continued growth and success in the future.
Under the guidance of supervision, the mechanic in the weld shop welds plate shells, nozzles, tubes and other items to repair/fabricate heat exchangers.

MAJOR DUTIES: *
- Performs heliarc welding, submerged arc welding and manual welding on components as assigned
- Welds tube ends to tube sheets
- Welds tube caps with heliarc welder.
- Welds root passes, tube sheets to shells
- Corrects welds as necessary
- Trains (on job training) other employees as needed.
- Controls his/her own welding supply usage
- Other duties and welding methods as assigned.
- Aids crane operator by visual and vocal signals when parts/assemblies are being positioned or lifted.
- Sets up and performs jobs based on shop practices and procedures.
- Performs internal quality control of welding procedures.

Buddy Ohmstede, Mack Lovering, and Albert Jarreau brought over 100 years of combined heat exchanger experience to start the company and provide the leadership and guidance necessary to establish the culture and environment required to succeed in a service business today. The shop was equipped with the machining and tooling required to ensure both the quality and speed needed to satisfy critical customer requirements. Once properly equipped, both the office and shop were staffed with some of the best heat exchanger people in the industry. The success and growth over the years has G.E.O. poised for continued growth and success in the future.

Pay: $26.50 – $33.00 per hour
