Overview
As part of a diverse and hardworking team of welders, you will be responsible for welding multiple alloys using the TIG welding process and assist the manufacture, assembly, and test for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of liquid rocket engine test stands and ground support facilities development. This position will support our launch and test facilities in FL, AL and TX, and will require you to travel to these locations as needed.
Responsibilities will include:
GTAW and FCAW weld processes using manual, semi-automatic, and/or automatic equipment
Weld preparation including cutting, blending, chamfering and cleaning parts
Support/prepare parts for post-weld inspection processes such as dye penetrant, X-ray and chemical treatments
Design support and fabrication of tooling for welding and assembly
Communicate with engineers on design concepts, offering suggestions for improvements to the design.
Perform Strip Welding and Installation on Flight Hardware
Review, edit and follow Work Instructions for welding and assembly work
Safely work within an industrial environment
Other Duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Must be able to pass GTAW, FCAW test to ASME Section IX and ASME D 1.1 This includes stainless schedule 10, a 2 inch carbon steel monster coupon, as well as 3g and 4g carbon steel plate test.
Experience working as qualified combo welder
Ability to interpret engineering drawings
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and the ability to document and maintain accurate records
Ability to use precision hand tools, standard mechanical tools and fabrication shop equipment, also develop fixtures/tooling.
Ability to travel to Blue Origin test and launch facilities on as needed basis
Familiarity with use of personal computers
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Desired
Orbital welding experience or knowledge
Familiarity with tube fabrication (bend, flare, fittings, etc.) and pressurized system safety
Knowledgeable in the use of 3-D CAD tools (CREO is preferred), and ability to read and interpret GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-1994 standard
Knowledge of drawing review, scheduling and work order systems, inventory and various issue tracking systems
Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight critical hardware
Machining experience
Crane Operator/Lift Coordinator Experience
