Primary Responsibilities:
Under direct supervision of chilled water pipe foreman, this role Performs skilled pipefitting tasks in the installation, repair, and maintenance of HVAC pipeline systems. S/he may occasionally oversee and direct the work of a small group of laborers.


Specific Duties & Tasks:

  • Measures and marks pipes for cutting, threading, and welding.
  • Lays out full-scale drawings of pipe systems, supports, and related information from blueprints.
  • Plans pipe system layout, installation, and repair according to specifications.
  • Selects pipe and related materials for projects, such as supports, hangers, and hydraulic systems.
  • Attaches pipes to structures and fixtures using hangers, brackets, clamps, tools or welding equipment.
  • Inspects and tests installed systems and pipelines, using pressure gauge, hydrostatic testing, observation, or other approved methods.
  • Performs other related work as required.
  • Responsible for special projects as requested by management and other duties/ responsibilities as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with all Del-Air policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • At least two (2) years of experience relating to HVAC commercial installation, preferred.
  • Ability to work from blueprints, sketches, and oral instructions under limited supervision.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the methods, practices, techniques, tools, and equipment employed in the joining, jointing, cutting, bending, threading of all types of HVAC piping.
  • General knowledge of the hazards of the trade and necessary precautionary measures.
  • Willingness and ability to work nights and overtime on an as-needed basis
  • Eligible to legally work in the United States.
  • Ability to obtain a valid driver’s license.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Successfully complete a background check and drug screen.
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment.
