THE OPPORTUNITY

Slegg Building Materials is currently seeking a Full-Time Commercial Door Fabricator/Welder to join our team. The shifts are Monday – Friday. The wage range is $17 – $24 per hour, based on experience, and benefits starting after 3 months.

THE LOCATION – Doorshop in Langford

THE RESPONSIBILITIES

Produce and manufacture doors using machines and tools

Comply with all safety requirements

Use of power tools

Read work orders over before beginning door production manufacturing to ensure you have all necessary information

Understand machine processes, paperwork systems and quality standards

Assist with coordination of workflow within manufacturing plant and supply chain to expedite production

Record any product used that is not on face of work order

Advise supervisor of low inventory or other product concerns

Keep work area organized and free of debris at the end of the day

Check machining, cutting, and processing tolerances against required standards

Cutting and bending of sheet metal

Fabrication and welding of commercial door assemblies

Various other duties as required or directed by management

THE REQUIREMENTS

Slegg will train a suitable candidate

Welding and/or metal fabrication experience is an asset

Mechanically inclined

Detail orientated with disciplined work habits

Effective written and oral communication skills (Ability to speak, read and write in English)

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately

Ability to work independently and as a team

Good knowledge of basic mathematics

Physical requirements include:
Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs

Pulling, pushing, bending and torso twisting movements with weight
