Waste Connections of Canada has an immediate opening for a Container Shop Lead Hand at our Bracebridge Muskoka location in Bracebridge ON, as theContainer Shop Lead Hand (lead welder)you will be responsible for leading the container shop team in repairs in a safe, effective and timely manner. You will meet with operations/dispatch to build/repair required upcoming container sales requirements. AsContainer Shop Lead Hand (lead welder),you will be responsible for ordering all required materials and supplies, inventory, and organizing the container yard and storage areas. You will report directly to the maintenance manager and work with the truck shop when required, as one team.
Pay rate:$23.08 per hour

Shift timing: Monday to Fridays 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM occasional overtime required
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Container/Bin Maintenance shop
- Use of wire feed welder and cutting torches , plasma cutters to weld/cut/repair bins
- Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
- Operate forklifts and wheeled loaders
- Provide training for other employees as required

Requirements:
- Experience in Container/Bin Maintenance/Welding
- Must be able to pass all pre-employment tests
- Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MMA etc.)
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to handle large parts and tools
- Position may require you to bend, crouch, stoop; use of ladder – fall arrest training
- Minimum G license must be maintained
