CUSTOM FABRICATOR/WELDER/FITTER

Nemx Skilled Trades is a dynamically growing mechanical contracting company whose expertise is within the custom fabrication, rigging and CWB Certified welding arena. Our exponential growth requires us to add an experienced Custom Fabricator/Welder/Fitter to our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Strong skills in interpreting blueprints and job specific information including technical instruction and codes & standards
  • Use overhead cranes to assist in the fabrication process
  • Ensure working environment is clean and safe
  • Fabricate sub-assemblies and assemblies based on work procedures and shop drawings
  • Aid in the designs and constructs templates, jigs and fixtures.
  • Verify conformance of workpiece to exact specifications and customer requirements
  • Solve intricate mathematical & angle problems
  • Fabricates custom components/parts and structures then assemble into a completed unit
  • Assume a leadership role as a seasoned fabricator/welder/fitter for a small team
  • Perform QC spot checks
  • Safely and effectively operate heavy & light machinery such as: drills, welding machines, various saws, press brakes, shears, cutting torches, grinders, plasma torch

Safety:

  • Required to wear appropriate PPE while on company sites and follow Nemx Skilled Trades Covid Safety Policy.
  • Required to follow all safety requirements as per safety policies
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and recognizing the need for help

Qualifications:

  • have acquired a minimum of 5 years of customized (direct mild steel and stainless-steel) fabrication and fitting experience (a must have)
  • are a born leader who can teach, mentor and guide a small team
  • are CWB certified
  • can boast of welding experience in TIG and GMAW (a must) and SMAW
  • possess a valid driver’s license and can provide a clean abstract
  • are willing to occasionally work on the road
  • achieve top quality results following oral and/or printed work instructions
  • consider yourself to be an individual who effectively performs his/her duties in a safety-driven environment
  • possess strong organizational, interpersonal and time management skills
  • are highly competent with both verbal and written English communication skills
  • own your hand tools and a welding helmet
  • are not afraid of a little heavy lifting on occasion
  • shine with a “pursue excellence” attitude and are a quality driven professional
  • have proven yourself a go-getter, self-starter and possess initiative in abundance
