Job Summary

We are seeking 1 experienced CWB/B-Pressure Welder Journeyperson for our Norman Wells site located in the Northwest Territories. The successful candidate will be responsible for successfully executing Welding related tasks in a construction environment.

Responsibilities:
Develops patterns for projects or follows directions in given layouts, blueprints, and work orders.

Cleans, checks for defects, and shapes component parts, sometimes using a cutting torch.

Welds parts and may also build up worn parts by welding layers of high-strength hard-metal alloys onto them.

Perform daily progress reports based on client and company requirements.

Comprehends diagrams and schematic drawings and service manuals to determine work procedures.

Aligns and tests equipment to make any necessary adjustments.

Performs predictive and operational maintenance using procedures manufacturers specifications and repair or replace defective parts when necessary.

Clean equipment as required to perform maintenance activities

May perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
Must successfully complete and pass welding test to be hired.

Minimum 2 years’ experience in an industrial construction setting.

Minimum 1 year piling experience.

Committed to working in a safe and efficient manner.

Ability to work outdoors in physically demanding conditions.

Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Excellent problem-solving skills required.

Good analytical ability and manual dexterity.

Successful candidates are required to have valid driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract.

Must successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing.

Must be willing to complete all require pre-access training identified at the time of hire.

Trade Certification Requirements:
Journeyperson Welder certification from a recognized provincial training authority.

CWB SMAW All Position including “T” Certification.

Valid B-Pressure certification.

Work Conditions:
Shift Rotation: 15/13.

Working 10 hours per day.

Charter flight from Edmonton provided.

Camp accommodations provided.

Work will be primarily outdoors in various weather conditions.
