Overview
We are currently recruiting for experienced CWB Journeyperson Welders with or without a rig to support a shutdown project near Fort McMurray, AB. Working a 14/14 rotation, 12 hour day shift and night shift. Camp or living out allowance and travel allowance provided.
Responsibilities:
Read and interpret blueprints and welding process specifications.
Operate SMAW, GTAW and FCAW.in carbon and stainless steel.
Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment.
Maintain safe work practices and follow project requirements.
Assist in development of repair estimates.
Conduct repairs and modifications as directed.
Monitor materials usage and report on any material issues. Assist in materials identification and management.
Provide accurate production reporting to assist in project reporting and tracking.
Assist in training, directing & supervision of junior employees and apprentices. Mentor apprentices in quality and safety.
Attention to detail – ensure accuracy and completion of assigned tasks and projects.
Requirements
Journeyman CWB B-Pressure Welder Certification
Hydraulic shovel experience is an asset
Electric shovel experience is an asset
Wire feed experience is an asset
Possess a valid driver’s license
Ability to work independently in a busy environment
Physically able to kneel, squat, bend, push, pull, and lift
