Responsibilities:
Read & interpret blueprints or welding process specifications for structural steel without supervision.
Use different welding processes and fillers depending upon the type of metal, its size and shape, and requirements for finished product strength weld parts together.
Extensive plate, structural, and miscellaneous welding experience whether it be a small or large project.
Welds parts, and may also build up worn parts by welding layers of high-strength hard-metal alloys onto them
Ability to clean/finish all completed welds with zero spatter, zero deficiencies, and zero defects over and above the required code, across the entire project
Takes pride in workmanship, aims for zero repair rate, continually striving to improve & develop
Continually exhibits best practices with housekeeping, safety, document control, lock-up procedures & preventative maintenance
Mentors and coaches Apprentice Welders
Experience using overhead cranes and skid steers
Support, participate in, and help drive the overall company safety program, safety awareness, and safety targets
Consistently demonstrate “Safety Leadership” qualities
Excellent communication skills, can-do attitude, collaborative skills, ability to follow directions and have attention to detail
Perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
May perform other related duties assigned
Requirements
Must have valid CWB, FCAW, SMAW ALL POSITIONS
Must have previous welding experience in an industrial setting
Must possess valid CSTS (Construction Safety Training Systems)
Must Possess WHMIS
Must possess valid government issued photo identification
Must possess valid class 5 drivers license
Candidates with COR safety experience an asset
Valid Overhead Crane Training, Skid Steer Training, & Standard First Aid Certification is a definite asset
Candidates with current First Aid certification preferred.
The day shift crew work 6:00am-4:30pm shift (Monday – Thursday, 10-hour days). Overtime is driven by schedule workload.
Working Conditions:
Applicants that reside near Nisku, Beaumont, Leduc, or Edmonton and area. Only local candidates will be considered due to the location of this project and no travel allowances are provided.
4 and 3 rotation – 10 hour days
Work will be primarily inside Fabrication facility, however some field work may also be required
This position will be project based
