Job Overview

JVD Installations Inc. is seeking 1 Experienced CWB Welder Journeypersons to work in Edmonton, Alberta. The successful candidate will be responsible for welding in a facility maintenance setting.

Position Details

  • Full Time Permanent
  • Start Date: April 10, 2022
  • 4 days on, 4 days off
  • Night shift: 6:00pm – 6:00am work schedule

Responsibilities

  • Develops patterns for projects or follows directions in given layouts, blueprints, and work orders.
  • Cleans, checks for defects, and shapes component parts, sometimes using a cutting torch.
  • Welds parts and may also build up worn parts by welding layers of high-strength hard-metal alloys onto them.
  • Perform daily progress reports based on client and company requirements.
  • Work in a multi trade discipline team-based environment.
  • May perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Must be willing to be hired as a direct employee.
  • Must be able to perform physically demanding work for a long duration of time.
  • Must be able to perform duties at heights.
  • Must be able to work in a live plant environment.
  • Work will be a combination of indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Must have previous structural fabrication experience in a maintenance environment.
  • Must complete specific in class and online safety training as a pre-hire requirement.

Required Trade and Welding Certificates

  • Welder Journeyperson from a recognized provincial training authority.
  • Dual Journeyperson Certificate as Electrician, Instrumentation or Millwright preferred.
  • CWB SMAW All Position.
