Position: CWB Welding Supervisor (W47.1)

Summary:

The Welding Supervisor is a key resource assigned with managing the day to day activities within the Welding department on the dayshift. The Welding Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the daily production schedule is executed in accordance with the plan while achieving desired quantity, quality, efficiency and utilization objectives; motivating and coaching staff and enforcement of policies and procedures.

As a representative of Malach, the Welding Supervisor will provide responsible and professional leadership to all staff in order to achieve cost-effective, on-time manufacture of quality products.

Knowledge & Skill Requirements:

  • CWB Welding Supervisor designation (CSA Standard W47.1)
  • 3 – 5 years of Manufacturing Supervisory experience
  • Ability to read and understand basic blue prints
  • Knowledge of metal fabrication and welding manufacturing processes, procedures, and machinery
  • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers
  • Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills; normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Professional, clear and effective communication skills

Essential Results and Duties:

  • Daily organization of the Welding department, which will include:
  • Material organization – both raw and WIP
  • Plan and organize department workload, schedule and employees in accordance to customer requirements
  • Cross training of staff
  • Identifying employee performance/behavior issues
  • Ensuring department meets Company and Workplace Health and Safety requirements.
  • Coordinating daily / shift priorities with the Manager, Production Planner, Shipper and other internal customers or departments
  • Ensuring employees are on task and productive
  • Ensuring standard work procedures are being followed
  • Resolving production and quality problems working with the appropriate departments
  • Ensure all necessary logs, forms and documents are filled out consistently and accurately
  • Effectively organize cell clean-up including time allocated to the area to ensure that the objectives are properly met and the area is set up for the next shift
  • Coordinate shift transitions; ensuring necessary information is communicated
  • Motivate employees through involvement, communication and positive reinforcement
  • Provide constructive feedback to employees
  • Actively participate in process improvement activities when required.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
