Overview
As a member of the manufacturing team and as a new Zelus family member, you will join a diverse, dynamic group of highly motivated individuals that bring with them a wide array of talents, skills and backgrounds.
The Shift Supervisor will demonstrate leadership of the weekend shift employees and for the safe and efficient production of quality cranes. Oversee the quality welding and fitting true to supplied manufacturing drawings. Acting as a working supervisor this role will interact with employees in the Crane Assembly Area while all reporting to the Production Manager.
This role will be on the Day Shift which runs Monday to Thursday 6:30am to 5pm
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Leadership of welder fitters
Ensuring accurate material and labour costs allocated to each project
Addressing employee performance-related issues should they be required
Fabrication of welded box girders
Welding of flange/web splices, installation of diaphragms, assembly of girders, internal welding of diaphragms/stiffeners, installing and tacking of flange in preparation for SAW welding
Finish welding of cranes (profile and box girder style) after initial alignment
Fit and weld additional components (brackets, catwalks, railings, etc.)
Finish welding all connections
Completion of quality documentation as related to the work performed
Dimensional verification of girder components prior to fitting
Inspecting incoming material
Inventory Control
Daily maintenance and lubrication of equipment and machinery
Use or operate equipment in a safe manner
Report defects in equipment
Maintaining a safe working environment
Ensuring employees are working in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations
Reporting any known workplace hazards or contraventions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act to their supervisor or employer
Awareness of their rights under the Occupational Health and Safety Act, including the right to refuse unsafe work and the right to know about any potential hazards to which they may be exposed in the workplace.
Other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Secondary school diploma or high school equivalent as a minimum
Previous experience in supervision would be considered an asset
Welders certificate or ticket
Maintain a level of education necessary to keep pace with new manufacturing technology and company requirements
CWB Welding Supervisor Certification for steel an asset or agreement to become certified
