Overview

We are seeking an attentive, and highly energetic individual to join our IOS team as a DIE HANDLER /DIE CORRECTOR. This role requires an individual who is flexible enough to work as a contract employee with the added benefit of becoming a contract-to-hire employee under the employer’s discretion and based on performance reviews.

The Key Responsibilities for this energetic and committed individual will be to perform a variety of tasks in a production environment. No degree, certificate or diploma required. For the right individual our client is ready to train.

Location: Langley, BC

Pay Rate: $25 – $35/HR

Shift: Monday to Friday 07:00am – 03:00pm or Monday to Thursday 05:00am to 03:30pm.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Making corrections to extrusion dies including hand filing, welding, and machining
  • Assist Die Shop Manager with daily operations of die shop including ordering and receiving of new dies and related tooling
  • Monitoring and gathering data on new die and problem die production runs
  • Assist in maintaining die shop equipment as needed
  • Communicate with die vendors on die designs and troubleshooting of die problems
  • Work with management team to identify die problems and implement solutions
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Must be able to communicate with coworkers
  • Must be able to follow directions
  • Heavy lifting is required
  • Previous die shop experience is essential
  • Insures that all tooling is maintained properly.
  • Polishes dies and has them ready for set-up following established schedule.
  • Orders dies and tooling as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining all die records.

Job Requirements:

  • Must be able to communicate with coworkers
  • Heavy lifting is required (up to 23kgs).
  • Previous die shop experience a plus
  • Must be able to read and understand shop orders.
  • Must be able to read and understand calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
  • Must be able to read and understand prints.
  • Must be able to run the press and meet all press requirements.
  • Must be able to use gauges & templates as required.
