Overview
This is a great opportunity for someone beginning their engineering career or with a background in construction. A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Structural engineering is preferred, but all engineering and construction backgrounds are encouraged to apply! We will also consider co-op or internship students, if working towards a degree.
Responsibilities:
Create Structural (concrete, wood-frame, mass timber and steel systems) and/or Mechanical (plumbing, HVAC and electrical) 3D models for construction and/or fabrication
Virtual design and construction studies of construction documentation (2D drawings and specifications) for all building elements (i.e. architectural, civil, structural, mechanical & electrical), integrating all disciplines into one central 3D parametric model
Provide constructability feedback through the creation of virtual RFI reports, outlining issues for the client
Attend and support project coordination meetings; deliver live reports to customers and construction personnel
Manage revisions in the Digital Twin 3D model that take place throughout the design and construction phases
Generate various detailing packages linked to the Fabrication or Construction Digital Twin 3D model
Identify and implement process improvement opportunities
Other tasks as needed to meet objectives and for all our continuous development
Requirements
Proficient in parametric CAD software (i.e., CATIA, SolidWorks, Siemens NX, etc.)
Knowledge of REVIT, Tekla or AutoCAD
Excellent communication
Great team player
Detail-oriented
Willingness to learn the construction industry and how to read construction documents
Willingness to learn structural and mechanical design engineering of AEC projects
Coding experience in VBA, EKL, or C# would be an asset
