AECOM is hiring DSP Rig Welder Journeypersons with B-Pressure to join our CNRL Albian project site team near Fort McMurray, Alberta. These are temporary positions, supporting the Spring 2022 Turnaround on either a 24/4 or a 6/1 rotation.

Welders join or sever metals in beams, girders, vessels, piping and other metal components, make metal parts used in construction and manufacturing plants, and weld parts, tools, machines and equipment. Welding usually involves applying heat to metal pieces to melt and fuse them together. Welders use different welding processes and fillers depending upon the type of metal, its size and shape and requirements for finished product strength.

Responsibilities:
+ Weld up to 30 inches (FDI) per day when material is available (some welds may be customized while others may be repetitive procedures to complete the work)

+ Use welding processes such as SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, or SAW to weld pressure piping

+ Follow various company policies and procedures such as:
+ ISO 9001-2008

+ AECOM’s Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)

+ Client Specific WPS

+ AECOM’s Safety Program

This is a fly-in/fly-out position and as such will be subject to the Government of Canada’s mandatory COVID-19 vaccination requirements:

Depending on your Vaccination status, it is a requirement to follow these instructions.

+ Must be Fully Vaccinated (2 shots + 14 days) – Proof of vaccination and a rapid test done within 72 hours of travel (if you have been off CNRL site for more than 30 days).

+ Starting December 21st , CNRL has mandated that anyone accessing a CNRL facility must be fully vaccinated. Those who are not fully vaccinated will not be given access to site.

1. For positions that fall into the list of required positions within the AECOM Oil & Gas Background Check policy, qualified applicants who are offered, and accept, the role must complete a satisfactory pre-employment Background Check. This may consist of all or a combination of the following: Canadian Criminal Record check, an Employment Verification and/or an Education and Accreditation Verification.

2. For positions that fall into the list of required positions within the AECOM Oil & Gas Alcohol & Drug (A&D) policy, qualified applicants who are offered, and accept, a position must provide evidence of a satisfactory Alcohol & Drug test in accordance with the Company’s Alcohol & Drug Policy. In order to be valid, the test must have been conducted at the direction of AECOM – O&G Business Unit.

Minimum Requirements

+ Journeyperson Certificate of Completion in the Welding trade

+ B-Pressure Certification from Alberta Boilers Safety Association (ABSA)

+ CWB Tickets

+ Common Safety Orientation (CSO)

+ Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS-09 or 2020) Certification

+ Energy Safety Canada Certified Fall Arrest/Fall Protection

+ Energy Safety Canada Certified Confined Space

+ Valid Government Issued Identification

+ Welding tickets and/or welder performance qualification testing required – as per AECOM Performance Qualification testing of welder’s guideline:

+ AECOM-1: F3/F4 Carbon Steel, SMAW/SMAW

+ AECOM-11: Arctec 661T, SMAW – F (flat) V (vertical) H (horizontal)

+ AECOM-7: F6/F5 GTAW

+ CWB-1: Mode: Manual, Class: F/H/Vu/O, Material: CS, Process: SMAW, Classification: S Electrode: F4
