Position Overview:
Join the Finning Canada family, part of the world’s largest Caterpillar dealer. We are currently looking for a dedicated Machinist/Welder who will be responsible for a variety of machinist and welding related duties in a fast paced, high quality service orientated environment.

This position will work a 7×7, 12-hour continuous shift rotation. If you are a safety conscious team player, self-motivated, autonomous, detail-oriented and possess your Journeyperson Machinist and Welding certification then you are exactly who we are looking for!

Job Description:
Major Job Functions:
Ensure jobs are planned, organized and all required parts and tooling are accessible

Minimize downtime and maintain production requirements as scheduled

Examine and diagnose machine defects, repair damage and cracks when necessary

Examine and diagnose machine defects, replace components when necessary

Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment and various machining equipment

Inspect parts for damage or excessive wear and tear using micrometers, gauges, and other diagnostic tools

Line boring, honing, milling, lathe and fabricating, various types of welding (Flux, MIG, Stick, Tig, etc)

Maintain safe work practices

Other work assigned as required

Qualifications & Experience:
Journeyperson Machinist certification

Journeyperson Welder Technician certification

Certified in Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)

CWB tickets will be considered an asset

Experience in Machining and Fabrication

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work independently

Computer literate and have the ability to contribute positively to a safe team environment

Highly motivated and mechanically inclined

Note:
This position is located at out Edmonton D18 facility on a 7×7 continuous shift

Hourly rate: $46.54 – $48.19 / hour

Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current Collective Agreement
