Position Responsibilities
The School of Education & Trades is looking for a Dual Ticket Welder/SFPF Instructor – Continuous (Probationary) Faculty Member to teach and develop curriculum in both the Welder and SFPF Apprenticeship programs.
The successful candidate will be expected to be an active member of the faculty and polytechnic community, participating fully in activities undertaken by the program.
Job Duties will include:
Maintain, develop and instruct the theory and shop components of the Alberta Welder and SFPF Apprenticeship programs
Ongoing planning and curriculum review
Participate in school, program, and other polytechnic service committees
Program promotion and student recruitment

Required Qualifications
Alberta Journeyman Certificates in Welder and SFPF
Inter-provincial Red Seal Certificate
Minimum 5 years post-Journeyman work experience
Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Effective time management and organizational skills
Aptitude for mentoring and coaching others
Comfortable with public speaking, and able to convey course subjects to diverse students and learning styles
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with:
Experience teaching post-secondary learners through both in-person and online formats
Journeyman certification in two or more related trades
